As a United States Armed Forces or Merchant Marine veteran, or the
family member of a veteran, you may be eligible for benefits,
entitlements and services offered by the U.S. Department of Veterans'
Affairs and the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs.
The city of Jacksonville, through its Veterans
Service Division, provides Duval County veterans and their families
assistance in understanding and obtaining veteran-related entitlements'
and social services. Examples of services offered: help in correcting
military records; submitting claims for disability, pension, medical,
education, or burial benefits; returning to a more independent
state-of-living or finding employment.
We also actively seek corporate partnership
opportunities to assist in providing our citizens and their families
meaningful veteran-related special events to honor our veterans on
Memorial Day, POW/MIA Day, Veterans' Day, Pearl Harbor Day, and an
annual Veterans' StandDown for our most needy veterans and their
families.
